Delicious Cranberry Sauce Made Fresh
Whether you are on 'Team Whole Berry' cranberry sauce or on 'Team Jellied", this recipe is for you. Plump fresh or even frozen cranberries make the cut for this delicious sauce to compliment your roasted holiday turkey.
Ingredients and Tasks
Ingredients
12 ounces Fresh or Frozen Whole Cranberries
½ cup Sugar in the Raw, or Date Powder
Zest and Juice of 3-4 medium Tangerines
½ cup Water
1 TBS Ground Cinnamon
1 tsp Ground Ginger
1 pinch Ground Cloves
Tasks
Using a medium non-reactive sauce pot, bring all ingredients to a boil on medium high heat. Simmer for just about 12-15 minutes. The cranberries should thicken naturally. Adjust seasonings, sweetness and thickness. Transfer to a bowl or chilling dish, loosely cover and let cool before serving.
NOTE: The joined flavors of Cranberries and tangerines elevate each other. For a tasty second version, skinless, ripe pears, apples or persimmons would also be a great additions to this recipe.
TIME SAVING TIP: You can purchase basic jellied or whole cranberry sauce at most grocery stores that will save time by not having to prepare it yourself. But why?
